- Two new fixtures have been scheduled for Thursday 15 October at Fontwell and Perth, while the meeting at Exeter on the same day is abandoned.
- The race meeting scheduled for Wincanton on Sunday 25 October has been transferred to Market Rasen.
- The BHA continues to review upcoming events, including the fixture at Kempton Park on Sunday 18 October, due to ongoing dry conditions.
The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has implemented a series of changes to the Jump racing programme in response to the sustained period of limited rainfall across the country. As dry conditions persist into October, these adjustments aim to provide safe and optimal ground conditions for participants. Consequently, the planned fixture at Exeter on Thursday 15 October has been abandoned. In its place, the BHA has added two additional fixtures for the same date, with racing taking place at Fontwell Park and Perth. It is expected that both venues will be able to offer ground on the easier side of good.
Furthermore, the Wincanton meeting originally scheduled for Sunday 25 October will now be transferred to Market Rasen. The Jockey Club has confirmed that Market Rasen will accommodate the Wincanton card in full, a move intended to assist with the ongoing challenges faced by racecourses with limited watering capacity. Tom Byrne, BHA Head of Racing and Betting, acknowledged the difficulties facing the industry and reiterated the organisation's commitment to flexibility as they monitor weather forecasts. The BHA continues to work closely with racecourses and the HBLB to support the jumping programme during this challenging period. Further updates will be provided as soon as plans for other fixtures, including the Kempton Park event on Sunday 18 October, are finalised. This update is based on a British Horseracing Authority (BHA) press release: BHA press release.
