Insight

The meeting saw a 38% favourite strike rate, a respectable figure given the volatility often seen on the all-weather. While market leaders like Golden Ring (1.40) and Snapequus (3.25) obliged for supporters, several short-priced runners were turned over, most notably the 1.91 favourite Aviatrice in the final race of the evening.

The highlight of the card was undoubtedly the victory of Eleanor Shelby (23.00), who provided the biggest upset of the day. Consistent riding from J M Sheridan helped him secure a double, matching the training prowess of Joseph Patrick O'Brien on a night where Listed class events added significant quality to the proceedings.
