Insight

The meeting at Epsom proved challenging for favourite backers, with a strike rate of only 29%. Notable market leaders failed to fire throughout the card, allowing for some value returns, highlighted by the victory of Zarakerjack (FR) who returned at 13.00 in the Jump Jockeys Derby Handicap Stakes.

Despite the high number of upsets, William Haggas and Cieren Fallon combined perfectly in the 3:57 to ensure the favourite, Matins, justified his short price of 1.57 in authoritative fashion, providing a bright spot for supporters of the market leaders.
