Insight

It proved to be a challenging day for favourites at Redcar, with the market leaders obliging in only 29% of the races. While punters were on the mark with the well-supported Flower Youmzain and Golden Souk, several other favourites failed to fire, most notably in the opener where King Of Persia provided the biggest-priced winner of the day at 10.00.

Nigel Tinkler’s double highlighted a competitive card, with his victories in the 4:41 and 5:17 races standing out. Despite the mixed results for favourites, the afternoon provided excellent value for those looking beyond the market leaders.
