Insight

It was a difficult afternoon for market leaders, with only 14% of favourites obliging. The highlight of the day came in the second race of the afternoon, where Zarenakarena (IRE) defied odds of 17.00 to become the biggest-priced winner of the meeting, upsetting the field under a sharp ride from Colin Keane.

Conversely, short-priced favourites faced frustration throughout the card, including in the maiden and the concluding handicap, as the soft ground provided a test that many of the market leaders could not overcome.
