Insight

The meeting at Southwell saw a solid 44% strike rate for favourites, most notably with Pyramid (GB) obliging at short odds of 1.44 and Elyam (GB) rewarding punters at 2.50. However, the market was not infallible, as demonstrated by the success of Moulin Booj (IRE) at 15.00 in the second division of the 5f handicap, where the favourite Hypnotised could only finish sixth.

Darragh Keenan was the star of the show in the saddle, securing a treble on the evening, including a brace for trainer Michael Herrington. The competitive nature of the handicaps was further evidenced by several tight finishes, particularly in the later sprints.
